Left and right buttocks dark purple discoloration
Patient intubated on ER due hypoxia, COVID-19 positive, developed dark purple discoloration looking like a blister/DTPI after 3 days in the hospital, at day 5, part of the skin “peeled off”, like a skin tear (?) showing a shallow wound. My impression was that only the skin was compromised. Since it was the very first patient with this kind of wound I documented as Stage 2 PI. The patient also had these purple discoloration at legs (but I don’t have the picture anymore). The patient expired a couple of days after this picture.

Hydrocolloid to prevent pressure injury, and contact reaction
This is a nurse working 8-12 hour days. Was experiencing pressure injury and contact reaction to masks. As protective measure hydrocolloid barrier strips used to protect skin. Initially well tolerated. Hours later, face felt tight, itchy. The nurse went home and showered. Removed strips— painful. Found her skin to appear burnt.
