Getting Started with the OCA Program
Your OCA Program Options
There are various ways to get started with the OCA Program. Depending on what your role in the WOC care community is, you can enroll in the program, facilitate the program, or add the program to your facility’s current education curriculum.
OCA FOR NON-CERTIFIED WOC NURSES
If you are an ostomy care provider, or a licensed healthcare provider seeking additional knowledge in ostomy care, the OCA Program is for you. If you currently work in a hospital, healthcare system, or home health facility, contact your WOC nurse and ask him/her to become a WOCN-approved OCA Course Coordinator to offer this Program in your healthcare setting.
Don’t have a WOC nurse at your facility?
OCA FOR CERTIFIED WOC NURSES
If you’re a certified WOC nurse who would like to bring the OCA Program to your healthcare setting, get more information on the application process and complete the Course Coordinator and/or Clinical Skills Instructor application now.
PROGRAM COST
There is a fee of $1,800 for a 1-year Program License that allows the licensing facility or individual to enroll an unlimited number of participants into the Program for $250 each.
Renewal terms are determined by a written agreement between the WOCN Society and the licensing facility or individual.
