A diverse group of nurses from 11 countries collaborated to define and develop standards of care for this condition.
Tammy discusses the unique challenges faced in different healthcare systems, from insurance coverage to access to supplies, and how these factors influence the management of high output stomas. Listeners will learn about the evolution of high output stomas into a recognized syndrome, the clinical recommendations emerging from the consensus statements, and the need for ongoing education and research in this area.

Tammy Lichtman, BSN, RN, CWON, is a seasoned CWON with 15 years of experience, including roles as Regional Wound and Ostomy Director for home health in Florida and owner of her own consulting business. Her background includes surgical nursing at the Cleveland Clinic and leadership positions at AdventHealth, where she managed the wound/ostomy program across multiple campuses.
