On this episode of WOCTalk, we sit down with Andrea Grove, BSN, RN, CWOCN, the 2023 recipient of the Barbara Braden Future Is Bright Award. Andrea, a new WOC nurse and a new mother, leads a busy life. Listen to discover how she became a certified WOC nurse, her active involvement in the UPMC Harrisburg skin team and pressure injury prevention committee, her role in updating fecal management documentation, her experience presenting her first-ever poster at WOCNext® 2023, and more about her professional and personal endeavors.

The Barbara Braden Future is Bright Award recognizes a new WOC nurse within the first 5 years of practice who is tri-specialty certified and destined to make a significant contribution to WOC care and exemplifies the scope of WOC nursing practice as defined in “WOC Nursing: Scope and Standards of Practice, 2nd Edition” (clinician, educator, consultant, researcher, administrator).
