REIMBURSEMENT
The WOCN Society works to educate payers and public policy makers about the value of the WOC nurse while also educating members about reimbursement policies. Rules for billing are complicated, scattered throughout Federal and State law, and vary from payer to payer. We frequently receive questions from members regarding reimbursement issues and have developed reimbursement fact sheets to keep our members as informed as possible. Login to your membership portal.

COMPETITIVE BIDDING
In 2016, the WOCN Society reported on the possibility of ostomy and urological supplies being included in Medicare’s competitive bidding program. Ostomy and urological supplies are not one-size-fits-all, and it is imperative that they do not become part of this program. We released a two-phase response plan for this issue. Phase I of the plan included the development of a document (below) outlining the implications of competitive bidding.
