WOCN Joint Conference Press Release

Mt. Laurel, New Jersey, October 4, 2021– Healthcare professionals interested in expanding their education in the areas of wound, ostomy and/or continence care will have the opportunity to take part in a unique event this upcoming June. From Sunday, June 5, through Wednesday, June 8, 2022 two premier wound, ostomy, and continence associations will convene in Fort Worth, Texas for WOCNext® 2022: A Global Education Event from WOCN® and WCET®.

WOCNext 2022 will be a hybrid event featuring both online and in-person education and networking occurring simultaneously. This educational conference is geared towards WOC nurses and other healthcare professionals dedicated to providing expert care to patients with wound, ostomy, and continence care needs around the world. The event, aimed at providing a global view of healthcare and collaboration, will assemble an international audience of healthcare professionals and members from both the Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Nurses SocietyTM (WOCN®) and The World Council of Enterostomal Therapists® (WCET®). The last joint event with both organizations took place in 2010 and gathered an international audience of attendees from over 40 different countries.

WOCNext 2022 will help us shine a light on the WOC care profession and the unique skills that enable WOC/ET nurses and healthcare professionals to impact outcomes and improve patient care around the world, each and every day.”

“As the World has learned during this pandemic, sharing scientific knowledge to solve clinical problems is vital,” said Elizabeth A. Ayello, PhD, MS, BSN, ETN, RN, CWON, MAPWCA, FAAN, WCET President. “WCET is once again delighted to be collaborating with WOCN to bring the world’s WOC/ET nurses together for this important joint event. Together, our two organizations bring almost 100 years of knowledge, evidence-based practice expertise, and research to this global education event. It is WCET’s hope that persons/patients around the globe will greatly benefit from care by nurses, whose practice outcomes are enhanced by the new knowledge and information about ostomy, wounds, skin, and incontinence care needs, shared through networking as well as formal presentations, posters, abstracts presented at WOCNext 2022.”

Individuals interested in showcasing their work, presenting their projects to their global peers, and helping advance the WOC care nursing specialty, may now submit an Abstract for WOCNext 2022.
